Rosa Logar is one of the founders of the first Austrian women's shelter in 1978. Rosa is a national and international women's human rights activist and co-founder of the european network WAVE - Women Against Violence Europe, a lecturer at the School for Social Work in Vienna, and she is the director of the 1998 founded Domestic Violence Intervention Program in Vienna and has been a member of the governmental working group drafting the new Domestic Violence Bill in Austria. Further fields of work include violence prevention, training for police, judges and other professionals and research. Rosa Logar has written numerous articles as well as information and training material and is co-author and co-editor of several books on violence against women and children. Currently Rosa is one of eight experts in the Council of Europe Task Force to Combat Violence Against Women (GREVIO), including Domestic Violence.
