Cindy Southworth leads the communications, development, technology, finance, and international efforts of NNEDV. She joined NNEDV in 2002 when she founded the Safety Net Project to address technology and Violence Against Women. Through the Safety Net Project she works with private industry, state and federal agencies, and international groups to improve safety and privacy for victims in this digital age. She has testified before Congress and is on many task forces and committees that address justice, privacy, technology, and safety in the Justice, Elections, Defense, and Human Services arenas. She spent the past 16 years focusing on how technology can increase victim safety and how to hold perpetrators accountable for misusing technology. The NNEDV Safety Net Project is one of 5 organizations internationally that serves on the Facebook Safety Advisory board.
