Therese Evers is a retired police office. She studied Social Work and specialized in (legal and police) fight against VAW. She became more active in the development and implementation of police approach to domestic violence. She also worked with the vice squad and specialized even more in fighting sexual violence and interrogating young children. In addition to this, she studied to be a child therapist. Therese has been involved in the national development of integrative approach of domestic and sexual violence by police and cooperating partners. In 2005, she worked on a 2 year project of the Ministry of Justice on implementation of new legislation on domestic violence and to improve cooperation between police, justice and other partners. From 2007 to 2015, she also worked as teacher at the Police Academy and was involved in national developments in the fight against sexual violence. She was also a member of several commissions of inquiry and a national expert group, which deals with advising public prosecutor in complex police cases of sexual violence.
